Privacy Policy

Effective date: July 28, 2026

Last updated: July 28, 2026

Fridge Plus Inc., doing business as Bit of Comfort, operates the website
bitofcomfort.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect,
why we collect it, who we share it with, and the choices and rights you have. It
applies to the website, to orders placed through it, and to customer service
communications connected to those orders.

By using this website or placing an order, you agree to the practices described here.

We are the data controller for the personal information described in this policy.

Information we collect

We collect information in three ways: information you give us directly, information
collected automatically when you use the site, and information we receive from third
parties such as payment processors and marketplaces.

Information you provide

  • Contact details, including your name, billing address, shipping address, email
address, and phone number. We ask for a working phone number because freight
carriers must call you to schedule an appliance delivery.
  • Order information, including the products you buy, order value, and order history.
  • Payment information. Card numbers are entered directly into our payment processor
and are handled by that processor. We do not store full card numbers on our
servers. We may retain the last four digits, card brand, and expiration date for
    order support and fraud review.
  • Account credentials, if you create an account, including your username and a
    hashed password.
  • Customer service records, including emails, chat messages, phone notes, photos you
send us for a damage or defect claim, and product model and serial numbers.
  • Optional submissions, including newsletter signups, product reviews, and answers
    to any survey or contest.

Information collected automatically

  • Device and browser information, including IP address, browser type and version,
operating system, screen size, and device type.
  • Usage information, including pages viewed, referring page, search terms used on
the site, products viewed, time on page, and click paths.
  • Cookies and similar technologies, described in the Cookies section below.

Information from third parties

  • Payment and fraud signals from Stripe and PayPal, including authorization results and
    risk scores.
  • Order and buyer contact information passed to us when you purchase through eBay.
Purchases made on eBay are also governed by eBay’s own privacy notice, which we do
    not control.
  • Delivery status and delivery exception information from UPS, FedEx, USPS, and the
LTL freight carriers that handle our large appliance shipments.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information such as government
identification numbers, health information, biometric data, or precise geolocation.
Please do not send us that information.

How we use your information

We use personal information to:

  • Process, fulfill, ship, and deliver your order, including scheduling freight
    delivery appointments.
  • Take payment, verify payment, and prevent fraudulent or unauthorized transactions.
  • Communicate with you about your order, including confirmations, shipment notices,
delivery scheduling, backorder notices, and cancellations.
  • Provide customer service, handle returns, process damage and defect claims, and
    route manufacturer warranty questions.
  • Calculate and remit sales tax, and meet our accounting, tax, and recordkeeping
    obligations.
  • Operate, secure, debug, and improve the website.
  • Send marketing email, where you have signed up or where permitted by law. You can
unsubscribe at any time using the link in any marketing email.
  • Measure site performance, so we can see which pages and products are working.
  • Enforce our Terms of Service and protect our legal rights.

Cookies and tracking technologies

We use cookies and similar technologies for the following purposes.

  • Strictly necessary cookies. These run the cart, keep you logged in, remember your
shipping selection, and protect checkout. The site does not work without them.
  • Preference cookies. These remember choices such as your region or recently viewed
    products.
We do not currently use third party analytics. We do not run Google Analytics or any
comparable measurement service, and no third party receives a record of your visit. If
that changes, we will update this policy before turning any analytics service on.

We do not currently use advertising or retargeting cookies. We do not run advertising
pixels, and we do not build advertising profiles about you. If that changes, we will
update this policy before turning any advertising technology on.

Because we run no analytics and no advertising cookies, the cookies this site does set
are first party and functional: they run the cart, your session, your login, and your
newsletter list state. There is nothing here to consent to, so we do not show a consent
banner. If we later add analytics or advertising, we will add consent controls at the
same time.

You can block or delete cookies in your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary
cookies will prevent checkout from working.

Some browsers send a Global Privacy Control or Do Not Track signal. We honor Global
Privacy Control signals where we are required to do so. Browser Do Not Track signals
are not standardized and we do not currently respond to them.

Third parties we share information with

We share personal information only as described below. The categories of recipients
are:

  • Payment processing: Stripe and PayPal
  • Website hosting and infrastructure: GoDaddy
  • Shipping and fulfillment: UPS, FedEx, USPS, and LTL freight carriers
  • Email and marketing: MailPoet
  • Marketplaces, where you bought through them: eBay
  • Manufacturers and authorized service providers, where you ask us to open a
warranty claim or arrange service on your behalf. In that case we share your name,
contact details, address, product model and serial number, and proof of purchase.
  • Professional advisors, including accountants, auditors, and attorneys.
  • Government agencies or law enforcement, where we are legally required to disclose
information, or where disclosure is necessary to protect our rights, your safety,
    or the safety of others.
  • A buyer or successor, if we are involved in a merger, acquisition, financing, or
sale of assets. We will require any successor to honor this policy or notify you of
    any change.

These recipients are permitted to use the information only to perform services for
us, and not for their own purposes.

We do not sell your personal information for money

We do not sell personal information for money, and we do not knowingly sell or share
the personal information of anyone under 16.

Some privacy laws define “sale” and “sharing” broadly enough to include the use of
advertising cookies for cross context behavioral advertising. We do not use advertising
cookies, so we do not share personal information in that sense either.

If you still want to submit an opt out request, email [email protected] with the
subject line “Do Not Sell or Share My Personal Information” and we will honor it.

Your privacy rights

Depending on where you live, you may have some or all of the following rights.

  • Right to know. Request the categories and specific pieces of personal information
we have collected about you, the sources, the purposes, and the categories of
    recipients.
  • Right to access. Request a copy of your personal information in a portable format.
  • Right to correct. Ask us to fix inaccurate personal information.
  • Right to delete. Ask us to delete personal information we hold about you. We may
keep records we are legally required to keep, such as completed order and tax
records, and information needed to prevent fraud or resolve a dispute.
  • Right to opt out. Opt out of the sale or sharing of personal information, of
targeted advertising, and of profiling in furtherance of decisions with legal or
    similar effects.
  • Right to limit. Limit our use of sensitive personal information, where applicable.
  • Right to withdraw consent. Withdraw consent where we relied on consent, without
affecting processing that already took place.
  • Right to non discrimination. We will not deny you goods or services, charge you a
different price, or provide a lower quality of service because you exercised a
    privacy right.
  • Right to complain. Lodge a complaint with your state attorney general or, in the
European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, with your local data protection
    authority.

How to make a request

Send your request to [email protected], or write to us at 350 SE 2nd St Apt 2530, Fort Lauderdale, FL 33301, or call
954-868-5655. Tell us what right you are exercising and give us enough
information to find your records, such as the email address or order number you used.

We will acknowledge your request and respond within 45 days, and we will tell you if
we need more time. We must verify your identity before we act on a request about
specific pieces of personal information. We do this by matching the information you
give us against our records. We do not charge a fee for a reasonable request.

An authorized agent may submit a request on your behalf. We will ask the agent for
written proof of authorization and may ask you to confirm it directly.

Legal bases for processing

For customers in the European Economic Area or the United Kingdom, we process
personal information on these legal bases.

  • Performance of a contract, to take and fulfill your order.
  • Legitimate interests, to secure the site, prevent fraud, and improve our products and
    service.
  • Consent, for marketing email.
  • Legal obligation, for tax, accounting, and consumer protection recordkeeping.

International transfers

We are based in the United States, we ship only within the contiguous United States,
and our service providers are primarily in the United States. If you access the site
from outside the United States, your information will be transferred to and processed
in the United States, where privacy laws may differ from those in your country. Where
required, we rely on Standard Contractual Clauses or another approved transfer
mechanism.

Data retention

We keep personal information only as long as we need it for the purposes described
in this policy. Order, payment, and tax records are retained for 7 years to meet tax,
accounting, warranty, and consumer protection requirements. Marketing contact records
are kept until you unsubscribe and for a short period afterward so we can honor your
opt out. We hold no third party analytics data to retain. When we no longer need
information, we delete it or de identify it.

Security

We use technical and organizational measures to protect personal information,
including TLS encryption in transit, restricted administrative access, hashed
passwords, and payment handling by PCI compliant processors so that full card numbers
never touch our servers. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure,
so we cannot guarantee absolute security. If you believe your account has been
compromised, contact us at [email protected] right away.

Children’s privacy

This site is intended for adults. We do not knowingly collect personal information
from children under 13, and we do not knowingly sell or share the personal
information of anyone under 16. If you believe a child has given us personal
information, contact [email protected] and we will delete it.

Third party links

The site may link to manufacturer sites, spec sheets, energy guides, marketplaces,
and other third party pages. We do not control those sites and are not responsible
for their content or their privacy practices. Review their privacy notices before
giving them information.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy as our business, technology, or the law changes. When we
do, we will change the “Last updated” date at the top of this page. If the change is
material, we will provide additional notice, such as a notice on the site or an email
to the address associated with your account. Continuing to use the site after a
change takes effect means you accept the updated policy.
